X Value in Math

Variable in math:

A variable is a symbol that stands for a value that may vary; the term usually occurs in opposition to constant, which is a symbol for a non-varying value, i.e. completely fixed or fixed in the context of use. The concepts of constants and variables are fundamental to all modern mathematics, science, and engineering .Here we are going to learn about variable x in math and how to find the value of x and its example  problems.(source from Wikipedia).In math often the variable x is used to find an unknown value .

Example problems for x value in math:


Example: 1

Find the value of x in the equation 4x + 3 = 7

Solution:

4x + 3 = 7  is the given equation we have to find the value of x .

First we have to add the both sides -3 we get

4x + 3 – 3 = 7 – 3

In the right hand side 3-3 will be canceling we get

4x = 4

Now divides both side 4 we get

`(4x) / (4)` = `(4 / 4)`

x =`1`

Therefore the value of x is equal to 1.

Find the value of x in the equation 4x+3+2x +5 = 2x+4

Solution:

In the left hand side combine the like term first

4x+3+2x +5 =2x+4

6x + 8 = 2x + 4

Add both sides -4 we get

7x + 8 - 4 = 2x + 4 - 4

In right hand side 4 - 4 will be cancelling

7x+ 4 = 2x

Add both sides -2x

7x -2x + 4 = 2x -2x

5x + 4 = 0

Add both sides -4 we get

5x + 4 -4 = -4

5x = -4

Divide both sides 5

`((5x) / (5))` = `(-4/5)`

Therefore x value = -` (4/5)`

`Example: 3`

Find the value of x in the equation 2x = 3x+3+3x+2-3

Solution:
First we have combine the like terms in the right hand side

2x = 3x+3+3x+2-3

2x = 6x +2

Add both sides -6x we get,

2x – 6x = 6x – 6x + 2

In right hand side 6x-6x will be cancel we get

-4x = 2

Divide both sides -4 we get

X = - `(2/4)`

The simplest form is - `(1/2)`

Therefore the value of x = - `(1/2)`
